ETNA TREKKING TO 3000 M
Meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the bar of the Hotel Rifugio Sapienza (1,900 m a.s.l.).
After a briefing with the volcanological guide, you will take the cable car up to 2,500 meters altitude.
From there you will begin the ascent to discover the crater of the 2002/2003 eruption and you will find yourself surrounded by an almost lunar landscape.
You will continue towards the base of the Barbagallo craters, located at about 2,800* meters, a strategic point to enjoy a breathtaking panorama where you can glimpse Taormina and Syracuse, as well as having a privileged view of the Summit Craters, from which you can observe the continuous release of gas and water vapor.
You will continue towards the very recent lava flows (the last one dates back to 14 August 2023) until you reach about 2,910* meters. Once in the “Torre del Filosofo” area, you will stop for a snack.
